The well organized four Malayali Conferences in the years 1999, 2000, 2002, 2005 had set some major milestones in the history of the expatriate community in the state of Qatar . Those occasions were graced by Prominent personalities, including HE Abdulla Bin Hamad Al Atiyya, Deputy Premier and Minister for Energy & Industry, Qatar, HE Sheikha Ahmed Al Mahmoud, the Minister for Education, Qatar, Overseas Indian’s Affairs Minister HE Vayalar Ravi, former Chief Minister of Kerala Ommen Chandy, Dr. Sheikh Yousef Al Qaradawi, Dr. Hussain Madavoor, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Thani and Padmasree MA Yousef Ali. Renowned litterateurs, political figures including MLAs, parliamentarians, and various scholastic personalities from India and Qatar kept the Malayalee Conferences worthwhile.
